How To Donkey Kick
The Donkey Kick is a flip trick that is mainly used in flatland because it is not easily done on or off of obstacles.
The name Donkey Kick most likely refers to the odd look of the trick.
The first thing you need to know is the hand position. I like to have one hand on each side of the seat, near the back.
The Donkey Kick might seem like a difficult trick, but if broken into steps, it can be quite easy.
Start by simply stepping onto the tire and dropping back to the pedals.
Then, start to add the flip. Begin with a quarter of a flip.
Now half of a flip.
Three Quarters
And finally, a full flip.
Once you have mastered that, follow the same process again, but jump onto the tire instead of stepping onto the tire.
A Quarter
Half
Three Quarters
Until once again you can do the full flip.
Now all that’s left to do is start from the pedals.
For this you just have to go for it. If you followed all of the previous steps you shouldn’t have too much trouble.
You may have trouble doing the kick. If so focus on pushing down on the tire and kicking back. You also need to make sure the kick is controlled.
Make sure you stay over the unicycle.
If you fall down take a break and try again later. Don’t get frustrated, or you’ll end up getting hurt.
Good luck!
