Kris Holm Fusion Street Saddle

The Kris Holm Fusion Street Saddle is a unicycle saddle designed for all types of unicycling

I picked up this saddle almost a year ago when I bought my first trials unicycle.  I have been using it since then and have had no problems with it so far.  It comes with the new Kris Holm seatbase that replaced the classic Velo seatbase.

When I first started riding I did not know a lot about unicycles, and had heard that seats with plastic seatbases would break quite easily, so I assumed that at some point I would break the seatbase like everyone else seemed to.  After about 4 months I started to realize that this seat must be a lot stronger than the old seats, since it showed no obvious signs of breaking.  In fact, I ended up breaking my metal seatpost before my plastic seatbase.  I now have a unicycle that came with a seat with a Velo seatbase, and there is a huge difference between the two seats.  The Velo seatbase is extremely flexible and feels very weak.  The Kris Holm Seatbase is the opposite.  It is stiff and strong.

Besides the seatbase, there are many other good things about the Kris Holm Fusion Street Saddle.  It is quite comfortable to sit in and hold for seat in front riding.  It utilizes a special groove down the center that improves comfort and provides a spot for your thumb when holding the seat in front of you.  The foam is comfortable as well, it is not too hard and not too soft.

Another feature is the removable seat cover.  Instead of being stapled and glued on like many other seats, the Kris Holm Fusion Street Saddle’s cover is held on by a drawstring system.  This allows it to be taken off or replaced if need be.  The cover is quite durable, although after a while the Kevlar material at the front and back of the seat may start to wear through.  This is easily fixed with a little bit of glue.

Conclusion:

The Kris Holm Fusion Street Saddle is a very good saddle, possibly the best out there.  I ride flatland and some street, both of which require a strong seat.  This seat will deliver.  If you are looking for a great seat at a reasonable price, I could not recommend the Kris Holm Fusion Street Saddle more.

Also available is the Kris Holm Fusion Freeride Saddle, if you are looking for a thicker saddle.  Or the Nimbus Gel Saddle.  Both of these have the Kris Holm Seatbase.  While all these saddles are already very stiff and strong, if you still need more strength a saddle reinforcement plate is available to farther enhance these seats.
